Germersheim – Bei einem Pressegespräch am Mittwoch (18. September 2024) mit Germersheims Bürgermeister Marcus Schaile (CDU) und Matthias Sontowski, dem Projektleiter der Förderregion Vorderpfalz, wurde eine erste und positive Bilanz zum Projekt brotZeit gezogen.
brotZeit, vor etwa 15 Jahren von Schauspielerin Uschi Glas und ihren Mitstreitern Dieter Hermann und Dr. Harald Mosler ins Leben gerufen, sorgt dafür, dass Kinder in ganz Deutschland vor dem Unterricht ein gesundes Frühstück erhalten.
An der Eduard-Orth-Grundschule in Germersheim zeigt das seit zehn Monaten laufende Projekt eine hohe Nachfrage: Hier werden aktuell etwa 90 bis 95 Schüler vor dem Unterricht mit einem ausgewogenen Frühstück versorgt.
Die Schulleitung entscheidet über die Auswahl der Lebensmittel, wobei alle 14 Tage kostenlos über ein spezielles Portal bei der Supermarktkette Lidl bestellt werden kann. Eine Erstausstattung stellt brotZeit zur Verfügung, und Geschirr, Kühlschränke oder andere benötigte Mittel gehen anschließend in den Besitz der Schule über.
Die Stadt Germersheim unterstützt botZeit aus vollem Herzen. „Keiner soll hungrig in den Unterricht gehen”, so Bürgermeister Schaile. Sontowski freut das: „Wir merken, dass wir hier herzlich willkommen sind.“
In Germersheim sind die Rückmeldungen durchweg positiv. Laut Lehrern gehen die Schüler entspannter in den Unterricht, da sie nicht nur die Möglichkeit haben, ein Frühstück zu sich zu nehmen, sondern sich auch mit anderen Kindern auszutauschen.
Ein Elternteil erklärte gegenüber dem PEX, dass es ihm manchmal vor der Arbeit an Zeit fehle, um ein gesundes Frühstück für sein Kind zuzubereiten. Dank brotZeit entfalle diese Sorge. Auch für Kinder aus finanziell schwierigen Verhältnissen ist das Angebot ein großer Gewinn.
Erweiterung an weiteren Schulen
Trotz der guten Infrastruktur in Germersheim haben nicht alle Familien die Möglichkeit, ihren Kindern vor der Schule ein Frühstück bereitzustellen. Der Erfolg an der Eduard-Orth-Grundschule verdeutlicht den Bedarf, den brotZeit in den Grundschulen der Stadt abdeckt. Auch viele Kinder berufstätiger Eltern profitieren von dem Angebot.
In den kommenden Monaten soll das Projekt daher auch an der Geschwister-Scholl-Grundschule und der Tullaschule umgesetzt werden. „Die Stadt steht hinter dem Projekt, und die Finanzierung ist gesichert“, versicherte Schaile. Für die Schule oder die Stadt entstehen hierbei keine Kosten.
Dringend ehrenamtliche Helfer gesucht
Was jedoch noch fehlt, sind ehrenamtliche Helfer. Die Stadt sucht dringend Senioren, Großeltern oder andere Freiwillige, um das Projekt an den beiden weiteren Schulen durchführen zu können. „Auch hier erwarten wir eine hohe Nachfrage“, so Schaile und Sontowski.
Gesucht werden Personen mit hoher sozialer Kompetenz im Umgang mit Kindern zwischen 6 und 12 Jahren, Teamgeist und Zuverlässigkeit. Zu den Aufgaben gehört das Vorbereiten des Frühstücksbuffets, die Betreuung der Kinder während der Frühstückszeit sowie das anschließende Aufräumen.
Als Ausgleich erhalten die Helfer eine Aufwandsentschädigung im Rahmen der Übungsleiterpauschale und sind über die Sammelversicherung des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz unfall- und haftpflichtversichert.
